Deuteronomy5-33aStay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy. Deuteronomy 5:33Long ago, my Mom, the adventurer, loved to find old roads and worn paths and follow them to see where they led.  She did this in life’s choices, too.  She always lighted her way with prayer and God’s Word.  She thought for herself and her faith grew.Have you ever considered the long and prosperous life?  What is prosperous?  Prosperous is not of this world.  Prosperous is these verses:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness. 2 Peter 1:4-6In the darkness of this world, we have God’s glory to light our way.  Not a flickering light of a flashlight with worn batteries of this world that fail just when we need light and understanding.King David, with the praise of his mouth, attests to the power of God’s righteous laws.  Affliction that comes upon us in this world sends us into the strong forever arms of Jesus to be comforted by His forever Love.  Praise be to Jesus, our Lord and Savior.Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it,that I will follow your righteous laws. I have suffered much; preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.  Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws. Psalm 119:105-108
