October 3, 2016 – Psalm 23:6

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6God’s goodness and his unfailing love chases me through life.  No matter how many times I chase after the things of the world, God’s Word draws me back to Him.   His Word leads me with its Truth to know, worship and love only You.The last sentence gives me hope, for I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever…Following the Lord our God, is trustworthy, for only our Lord God loves whatever is just and good and pure. There is no deceit or underhanded motivation in His Word or deeds, only truth.Everywhere I look in the world, I see the evidence of his unfailing love that fills the earth.  Psalm 19 proclaims this truth from beginning to the end. The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. Psalm 19:1-4I can never hide from the truth that God is….and He loves me.  And He loves you.  And God asks each of us, as Jesus asked Peter, Do you love me?  Our response is answered in every choice we make to every situation we encounter in our lives.This same Psalm ends with a benediction I often heard my Mother quote as she walked with the Lord on this earth. – May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. vs. 14.For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. Psalm 33:4-5
