October 29, 2019 – John 14:19-21

“Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” John 14:19-21.

The fourteenth chapter of John begins, Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

Can any son know his Father so well, He can confidently speak for him? Jesus is more than just God’s Son. Verse 10 and 11 tells us: The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does His works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me.

How much does Jesus love His Father? Verse 13 tells us, Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son!  This is true love. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. I Corinthians 13:6.

The gift of Peace is ours only through Jesus Christ. The world can not give peace. When we keep the commandments Jesus gives us, not only will Jesus love us, but His Father loves us, too.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.  John 14:27-28
