October 29, 2018 – Psalm 119:130-132

The teaching of your word gives light so even the simple can understand. I pant with expectation, longing for your commands. Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name. Psalm 119:130-132.

Oh, Lord God, give me understanding of your will and I delight in you.  Each day I long for your commands to light my way. Your Word says, “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires.”  Psalm 37:3-4.

Often I tears come to my eyes as I consider the gracious gift God has given us in Christ Jesus, the Lord of Love and Grace. Surely the gift of prayer reaches us deeply even as these words describe.  And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!  2 Corinthians 9:14-15.

Help me to obey Your Commandments and weep when we disobey your instructions.  We know you will return, Jesus, and gather God’s children to present to our Father in Heaven.

As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them.  “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”  Acts 1:10-11.

John wrote about the return of Jesus to the earth. “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:12-13.

Look upon me with love; teach me your decrees. Rivers of tears gush from my eyes because people disobey your instructions. Psalm 119:135-136.
