October 27, 2017 – Isaiah 40:4-5
Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The Lord has spoken!” Isaiah 40:4-5.
A sudden storm arises in the sky, buffeting winds bring whipping rains beating against the windows. This storm was not forecast, we didn’t see it coming. Storms in our lives rock our precarious stand on the hill top and we tumble to the deep valley of sorrow and loss. How can we straighten the road we walk on.
We can’t! We know someone who can. Have you not heard? It is our Lord God Almighty who has power and strength. We delude ourselves when we thing we have power. God, the Creator of all the Earth, gives power and strength to the weak.
How does this happen? We cannot measure His understanding, or his strength. He never sleeps or becomes weary. Nothing is beyond our God Almighty.
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. Isaiah 30:18. O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord? You are entirely faithful. Psalm 89:8.
He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. I Corinthians 1:8-9.
Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Isaiah 40:28-29.
