October 27, 2016 – Ephesians 1:13

And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. Ephesians 1:13It IS Good News!  The bottom line of every life lived for Jesus Christ is Good News. In this day and age we carry cards that show our ID.  This is our way of proving who we are.  There is another ID much more important — an eternal ID that we belong to Jesus.  It begins when we believe Jesus saves us.  It is a heart change and others know our ID when we love one another and serve others in the name of Jesus.We cannot love and serve without the gift of the Holy Spirit within us.  It is our guarantee from God that we will receive the inheritance he promised.  God purchased us to be his people.  We are His twice.  He made us in his image, and He sent Jesus as a sacrifice to cleanse us from our sins and be His.God implanted eternity in our hearts. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) We all will worship something or someone.  When our ID includes The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, our hearts are tuned to the Eternal and we praise and glorify Him all our days, beyond time.

It all begins with Love.  God is love. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.  Psalm 25:10

The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. Ephesians 1:14
