October 26, 2020 – Psalm 90:1-4

Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You return man to dust and say, “Return, O children of man!” For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. Psalm 90:1-4.

This Psalm begins sixteen Psalms praising and honoring God. This prayer belongs to Moses, a Man of God, who led the Children of Israel from Egypt. He led and taught them to obey God’s commands. When all seemed lost at the Red Sea, Moses spoke, “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Exodus 14:14.

Praising God is commanded when all seems lost. I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Psalm 146:2.

Praise be to God, to whom a day is as a thousand years. Teach us to count our minutes and continually praise You in good times and difficult times. Help us to hear Your Voice calling us to Honor and live Your Way.  In the name of your Son, Jesus, Amen.

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.  I Corinthians 2:9-10.

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15.

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on your servants! Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:12-14.
