October 26, 2016 – Hebrews 1:1-2

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. Hebrews 1:1-2Did you ever wonder what it would have been like to walk the earth when Jesus did?  Would you have believed?  Would you have listened?  Many didn’t then and many do not now.  Would I have believed? Before God sent Jesus to the earth to give his life on the cross to cleanse our sins God spoke in many ways to people through the prophets to our ancestors – real people.  People like you and me.In these final days God speaks through his Son, no one else, except our Jesus.  No other mortal man can add to what Jesus said, or was promised everything by God as an inheritance.  No other man who lived on earth created the universe with God.Jesus, the Son radiates God’s glory and unchanging character of God.  We try to add others to Jesus, but Jesus, with His Father, stands alone.  No other man loved us so much that He died on the cross and rose the third day.  No other man.  Only Jesus has the power over our life and death and the universe.  There are no ‘do-overs’ with Jesus.  He is perfect.  He sits in the place of honor, at the right hand of the majestic God the Father in Heaven.  Jesus is coming again to receive us.Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Hebrews 8:13. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan. Ephesians 1:11The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. Hebrews 1:3
