ShieldofFaithEph6-16In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:16-18We all want to be protected from the scary unknowns of this world.  These verses contain actions that we can choose to do.  Put ON The Shield of Faith, the  Sword of the Spirit.  Then Pray and Persevere.   Don’t give up, never ever give up!How much fun it is to play dress up when we are young and pretend we are someone else.  Pretending we are a princess or a lord, or the king of the mountain.  Reaching ever higher in this world, we pretend.  There is no pretense  when we put on the clothing and accessories that God provides to protect us.  What is another example of ‘putting on’?Ephesians 4:23and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.  Ephesians 6:20-12Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  Colossians 3:12 -Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience…We have comfort, protection and living in the will of God.  We can take refuge daily, no matter what happens to us, in our Lord God.  In the steadfast, faithful Jehovah, our Rock, we find our comfort. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?— Psalm 18:30-31
