This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:10-12Always liked the scripture, Jeremiah 29:11. It was interesting to read ‘the rest of the story’. The surety of – ‘you will call on me and come and pray to me’ is precious. For God knows it is impossible for us to manage without Him. For He is the Master of the Universe — even to the tiniest detail of the lives of the tiniest human being on earth. The promise was and is and always be….I will listen to you. In this day and age we have a reason for the state of being contented, no matter what situation we find ourselves in. It is not a jumping up and down joy, but a deep seated joy that arises from the depths of our being. It is a mixture of peace and hope, a feeling of abundance because Jesus is enough. That is the joy that is ours through the resurrection from the dead of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through obedience and the work of the Holy Spirit, we have an inheritance. An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.Any earthly inheritance that we claim is taxed and divided. This spiritual inheritance belongs to each of us who obey and let the Holy Spirit direct our steps. Is it any wonder that we sing praises to God with an overflowing love? Words can not express our joy in humility, our love or our praises to the incomparable Father God, Yahweh!…who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, I Peter 1:2-4
