October 22, 2015 – Matthew 6:19-20
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19-20Do you have a treasure? Something that is so dear to your heart, you would cry for days if you lost it? Is it a ‘thing’? How did you get it?There are many stories of Pirates searching for Gold with a map. We have a map, too. We have a map that will help us find a treasure that lasts forever! No one could ever steal it. It will not become broken. It will not rust. It will always fill you with joy because it is yours. This treasure will protect you from evil. The map to find the greatest treasure ever, is in God’s Word. The treasure is Love. I Corinthians 13:13 in The Map says Love is the greatest and the most! It can only be found when we choose to Love Jesus, our Lord. The Map tells us how we can love others and do kind things for them, just as Jesus taught. When loving Jesus and loving others is the most important in life to you, you have a Treasure like no other. You will want Jesus and want to read The Map. King David said, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103. He knew the blessing of God’s Words that are written in The Map. What map are you following? Have your found God’s Word, The Map?Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21
