October 18, 2018 – Matthew 6:13b-15
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:13b-15
The first part of the Lord’s Prayer – Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10. The last part tells us, the why this is – For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
There is no other who has the power and the glory! This is God’s world, His Kingdom, in Heaven and on Earth, through Christ Jesus. The verbs give us purpose on earth – Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and He who seeks finds, and to Him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8.
We always want to know how to face each day and we grow weary with troubles. Trusting God first, gives us worry free days. Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27. The words of Jesus comfort our hearts in the midst of storms of life.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34.
