October 17, 2016 – Psalm 37:3-5
Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:3-5Trust is five-letter word resembling a diamond with many facets of beauteous meaning. It cannot separate itself, for it is a blend of the best of the human heart and enhances our walk in the Light of Jesus, trusting Him only.Another facet I see is obedience to Jesus. When we walk with Him, His love is reflected in our hearts. How can we walk with Him unless we truly believe in Father the Son and Holy Spirit and know without a doubt that we are His in every way? Humility is another facet of trust. Jesus helps those who depend on Him in every way. What the world sees as strength is simply trusting and accepting what is and knowing God has a purpose for our lives that we cannot see. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 4:3-4.When we walk steadily, day by day, in his way, we have His assurance of joy and peace. One word describes our love and adoration of Jesus – Delight. It is the word describing our longing for what will be, in His name. Delight describes the joy of those moments of understanding in His Word. Delight describes the ‘knowing’ we are chosen.Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:4-5.But the Lord will not let the wicked succeed or let the godly be condemned when they are put on trial. Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. Psalm 37:33-34
