ITim6-6bBut godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. I Timothy 6:6-7What is contentment?  When a see a baby asleep, with arms flung out, I see contentment.  When I see a beautiful flower gazing at the sky in rapt attention, I see contentment.  When I see a beautiful scene with water, reflecting lazy billowing clouds, I understand contentment. But when I read the scripture, I KNOW contentment is heart-deep when I seek God, obey and serve him in true holiness.  Contentment is trusting my Savior to guide me and love me.  Contentment is never doubting who I am in the Lord.  Contentment is having a purpose — serving and obeying the One who died to set me free.  Contentment is knowing where my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren ARE, spiritually.  Contentment is knowing that when I pray, Jesus hears and answers every request I make in His own time and in the way He sees best. Contentment comes as I learn to wait upon the Lord.Contentment brings a soul-prosperity that cannot not be found anywhere else.  Contentment is built on a foundation of love, a love that will never pass away.  For God is Love.  Love begets peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil. If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.  Job 36:10-11
