October 12, 2016 – Psalm 89:14-15
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. Psalm 89:14-15What is the secret of Joy? What is our strength? What remains of our lives after we have left this earth? What is our legacy? How do we want to be remembered? What foundation can we build on that will not crumble at the slightest storm? One that is built from His righteousness and justice. God’s rightness and justness is for everyone. We do not have the wisdom or understanding to declare what is right or just. God’s unfailing love and His truth are our strength and our joy. When we worship Him, we obey Him and walk in the light of the presence of God.Worship happens when we acknowledge our Lord and give Him honor and obedience. Joy begins with obedience and searching for Him with all our hearts. When Satan puts three words in our hearts, we have given our heart to the Evil One. “Just this once….” So begins the great compromise with God’s Truth and His presence flees and we stumble through life in darkness. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment is, his reply came…’You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39.Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. I John 4:7-8Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil and they walk only in his paths. Psalm 119:2-3
