October 1, 2019 – Psalm 119:11-14
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes! With my lips, I declare all the rules of your mouth. In the way of your testimonies, I delight as much as in all riches. Psalm 119:11-14.
What is stored in your heart? From the time we are very young, what do we see? What do we remember? On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:37-38.
We constantly long for something new, something exciting in this world to appease our hunger and our thirst. Jesus pinpointed how to satisfy our longings. Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” John 6:35.
Meditate, think constantly, on the way of our Lord God. Find joy in Him. He is enough and provides more that we can ask for. Would you desire truth, something that will last? Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21.
This abundance can only come from our Lord God through Jesus Christ. How easy it is to forget Him with the press of the world! These words come from Nehemiah, The Joy of the Lord is your Strength!
I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. Psalm 119:15-16.
