November 7, 2018 – Psalm 91:1-2

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. Psalm 91:1-2.

We long for His Rest in our hearts and mind.  How often Jesus beckoned and said, “Come!”  Matthew 11: 28,  Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  This is a promise we can hold on to for a lifetime.  Jesus came to this earth, sent by the Lord Almighty.

What is this rest?  How can we find a place of safety from the world’s problems, a refuge, where we can know truth from traps of lies at every turn?  Be my rock of safety where I can always hide. Give the order to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. Psalm 71:3.

Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.  Guard me as you would guard your own eyes.  Hide me in the shadow of your wings.  Psalm 17:7-8.

There is only one safe place in this world from evil — trusting in the Lord our God.  One song to sing of His glory, one life to live for Him, just as He sent his One and Only Son, Jesus, to save us.

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3.

For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:3-4.
