November 6, 2017 – 1 John 1:7
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7.
When Jesus is our Savior, we have many friends to fellowship with in the light. For God the Father is the Light. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12.
The blood Jesus shed on the cross is for the forgiveness of our sins. All have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God. This is our legacy from Adam and Eve. When we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves.
Confessing our sins to Jesus – is entering into the light, for He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all wickedness. Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God. Isaiah 50:10.
Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind. Psalm 104:1-3.
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:8-9
