November 24, 2017 – Psalm 84:3
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young at a place near your altar, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God! Psalm 84:3.
Do you know where it feels most like home? God gives birds a ‘homing’ instinct, the same as He does for us. The birds, with little seeming worth, have value in God’s eyes. “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7. Each of God’s creations has beauty… and worth! In Ecclesiastes 3:11, it is written, Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
Our critical nature gets in the way of seeing the beauty of all God’s Creation, …and God saw that it was good. Every man, woman, and child, every animal, bird or fish.
Where do we find joy, peace, and love? Living in God’s House with Him, through Him, and through Him. I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. Psalm 45:2-3.
Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord—rejoice in his presence! Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy. Psalm 68:4-5
What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. Psalm 84:4.
