November 23, 2016 – Hebrews 12:28

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.  Hebrews 12:28But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ. Hebrews 3:6Our confidence is sure and steadfast in Christ. In Him, we can know, without a doubt, our hope is sure. For Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  This morning, in the chill of the house, I knew something wasn’t the same. The furnace was not working, and the temperature was dropping. Nothing in this world is the same, things stop working, people betray us, and we betray them.Jesus will never betray us – He is always the same. We can depend on the sureness and sameness of His love.We are attracted to new ideas that beg to be investigated and forget about the mysteries of God’s Grace that continually intrigue us.  Man-made rules are not what strengthens us.  Our strength comes from God’s Grace.  The same God who protected Daniel in the Lion’s Den, gave David victory over Goliath, and gave the plans for the ark protecting Noah and his family from the flood is our God.That same God who loves us, the same God we worship and the same God who saves us!  Praise the Lord for Sameness!  Job was asked by the Lord, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. Hebrews 13:8-9
