…and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God. Colossians 3:14-16How difficult it is to let peace of Christ rule in our hearts when we have so many worldly distractions pounding at the door of our hearts. Financial woes, rocky relationships and wanting our ‘rights’ all create barriers to that peace. The first step is searching and letting the Word of God permeate our hearts and minds. Giving thanks for all things is the second step in finding peace. We cannot do this alone – but in tandem with other believers — admonishing and encouraging each other. Thankfulness and the Word of God spill over into a song of thanksgiving to our Lord. We see the beauty of being in Jesus, the honor and the glory! This beauty is recognizing that Jehovah is God. He made us and we are HIS. We are his people and follow him as sheep follow their shepherd. Praise and thanksgiving is our communication and we bless His Holy Name. There is no expiration date on His loving kindness and his faithfulness. Teaching our children that they teach their children and beyond brings the understanding that Jehovah is Good.Dear Jehovah God, the One and Only God, we are your people and we follow you. We praise you for your everlasting faithfulness. Help us to remember daily Who you are and that we are Yours. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.Know ye that Jehovah, he is God: It is he that hath made us, and we are his; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Give thanks unto him, and bless his name. For Jehovah is good; his loving kindness endureth for ever, And his faithfulness unto all generations. Psalm 100:3-5
