November 21, 2019 – Psalm 111:1-3

Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation, Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splendor and majesty is His work, and His righteousness endures forever. Psalm 111:1-3.

Reading these verses brings my Mother’s voice and the joy on her face as she sang, “Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!  Amen.”   Once, I asked her why she sang the Doxology all the time.  “The thread lasted until this shirt, I sewed, is finished.”  It is from her, I learned about the little things to be thankful for each day.

From the little things to big happenings in life, our God is with us.  There is the word, ‘delight’, again. Delighting in the Lord brings anticipation in glorying in our Lord God. Seeing each day through His Eyes brings joy and the beginning of wisdom and peace.

The heavens decree the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.  There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out through all the earth,  and their words to the end of the world. Psalm 19:1-4.

The awesomeness of the creation surrounding us, is captured by the camera in full color and delights the eye and the soul. Delight yourself in the Lord,  and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4.

He has caused His wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!  Psalm 111:4, 10.
