November 21, 2016 – Colossians 3:15
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27. Our peace is a gift from Jesus. Nothing in all this world can give us peace – for our peace comes Jesus Christ. Let this peace RULE our hearts and have a permanent place in our lives. Not just one day, but every moment!Peace can not be decreed by government, it is a condition of the heart. It causes us to sing from the inside out of His Goodness. We are to teach and counsel with all the wisdom He gives us. Often words are not needed, but seeing the needs of another person and serving from a heart of love. This peace from God can rule our hearts by being at peace with others, listening to their hearts and struggles. When our attitude and words we say and/or write to others count, they come from our Heavenly Father. As we walk with the Lord Jesus, we become his representative and an encourager to those around us.In this week of focusing on thanks-giving teach us to be ever more grateful to the Giver of All Gifts.Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord, giving thanks though him to God the Father. Colossians 3:16-17
