November 20, 2018 – Psalm 103:17-18
But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear Him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to His covenant, of those who obey His commandments! Psalm 103:17-18.
Each day counts in the ways we respond to life. For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28.
We are made one in Christ Jesus through His Sacrifice and Love. We desire above all Love, Joy and Peace in life, the first three fruits of the Holy Spirit. A child responds to these attributes, possible only through putting on Christ. Grandparents, a generation away, prays and loves with patience. We often call this spoiling. It is loving others like Jesus loves.
What other attributes go with Love, Joy and Peace? Galatians 5:22-23, But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
We often take personality tests to see what our strengths and weaknesses are. These nine qualities are difficult to attain in our lives, on our own. Yet, through the power and love of Jesus Christ, others will begin to see these attributes in the way we live.
How do we begin? The first three words in the next verse tells us. Praise the Lord! Give thanks for all He has created. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. I John 4:17
Praise the Lord, everything He has created, everything in all His kingdom. Psalm 103:22
