Truly my soul finds rest in God;my salvation comes from him.Truly he is my rock and my salvation;he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. For you have been my refuge,a strong tower against the foe. Psalm 62:1-3What is the one desire for someone who has had a wearying day? Rest. And often we look to means to rest and relax that comes from pills or drinks that cause addiction. There is no rest in addiction, it must be fed more and more. As I write this, my eyes want to close in sleep and not remember my troubles. Then I find these verses. Verses that give me hope and put my mind to rest. For just as a child rests in his mother’s arms, so I rest in the arms of God.He is my rest, my rock, my refuge, my fortress and my salvation. And His Grace is sufficient. For when I am weak, I know my Jesus has power that I realize when I rest in his power. For Him, I delight in weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions and difficulties. In my weaknesses, through Jesus Christ, I am strong.Dear Lord God, May I look to You constantly in my weaknesses, for your grace is sufficient for me. Your love gives me hope. There is no ‘woe is me’ in You, I surrender my all to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen! But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. II Corinthians 12:9-10
