November 18, 2020 – Psalm 107:1-3

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north and from the south. Psalm 107:1-3.

From the east, the west, the north, and the south, God gathers His Children. Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,  and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!  Psalm 32:10-11.

We hunger and thirst for that which is righteous and to be loved.Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” John 6:35.

We thank God for food and shelter, but do we thank Him that we are the child of the King? But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12.

In Him, we will receive an inheritance to be treasured.  The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
You hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.  Psalm 16:5-6.  

O Lord, my God, You fill my hungry soul  and satisfies my longings for love, joy, and peace.  Thank you, Rock of my Salvation for showing the way. I give you thanks in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“  John 14:6.

Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works to the children of man! For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things. Psalm 107:8-9.
