November 15, 2018 – John 3:16-17

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:16-17.

Who is this Jesus? Who is this Jesus to you and me?  When we believe in Him, we will have eternal life.  This is one of the first verses I memorized.  Did I understand the importance of this Jesus when I was a child?  No.

We learned to sing, “Jesus Loves Me, This I know, for the Bible tells me so...”  Now I knew where to learn more about this Jesus. Day by Day, Jesus changes our lives, bringing light and understanding. God is Love! How can we know when we cannot see Him?

You love Him even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of your souls.  I Peter 1:8-9.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  In those days when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.  Jeremiah 29:11-13.

But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?  No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven.  John 3:11-13.

“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in Him. But anyone who does not believe in Him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. John 3:18.
