November 10, 2017 – Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you. Psalm 9:9-10.
Exult in his holy name rejoice, you who worship the Lord. Search for the Lord and for his strength;
continually seek him. Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given. Psalm 105:3-5.
Would you have wisdom? The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; He looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. Psalm 14:2.
God gave us the key to His Shelter and Refuge. We lift our voices in praise to Him, and sing the melody of joy He gives each of us. All is righteous and glorious between God and us. Remember all the stories of the Old Testament? Abraham who trusted. Noah who built an ark on dry land, obeying. Jonah who ran away, and found his new home in the belly of the big fish. He learned that God pursues us. God loves us so much, He sent Jesus, His Son, to die on the cross, to give us love, joy, and peace on this earth. God’s Love is faithful, just, and forgiving.
Remember the hymn, Oh, how I love Jesus…Because He first loved me…? There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth, It sounds like music in mine ear, The sweetest name on earth.
God has given us songs of praise to sing with the breath He places in our lungs. God gives us each day on earth, and wakes us to new blessings each day. One of the greatest blessings is how we learn to believe and trust Him!
Praise the Lord! Let all that I am praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. Psalm 146:1-2.
Sing praises to the Lord who reigns in Jerusalem. Tell the world about his unforgettable deeds. Psalm 9:11.
