November 1, 2018 – Psalm 25:4-5

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me,  for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25:4-5.

When we read these verbs, the most difficult to understand are Lead and Teach.  We accept Show as long as it is for information only.  Point out the Direction, as long as it can be our choice.

Lead and Teach me, are different,  we want to learn our own way.  True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.  Psalm 22:4.  In John 14:6, we find, Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  Is it any wonder that Psalm 25 includes – Lead me by Your Truth?

There is more!  Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  John 8:31-32.

For God, all things are possible, He knows we want our way while we were young.  The writer of this Psalm asks God to remember him as His love is unfailing and merciful.

Where God is Worshiped, there is Love. When God is Loved, there is Forgiveness.  When God forgives, Man lives in Peace.  God’s Exclamation Point to His Love for us comes through Jesus Christ- God’s Son, in John 14:27-28:  “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again.”

Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord. Psalm 25:6-7
