May 8, 2020 – I Corinthians 15:51-53
Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. I Corinthians 15:51-53.
The thrill of hearing the beat of the drums and the calling of the trumpets is a sweet memory. In the twinkling of an eye we shall be changed to a body that doesn’t age, doesn’t hurt, or feels pain. This is the gift from Jesus Christ. When Jesus was raised from the dead, He removed the sting of death and the power of sin for us when live for Him.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27. These are the words of the Jesus. We don’t have to wait for the gift of peace. It is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and our Teacher Jesus gives.
But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13:5-6.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! Psalm 36:7a.
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. I Corinthians 15:55-58.
