May 8, 2018 – Psalm 98:4-6
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary. Psalm 98:4-6.
When you walk outside, what do you see first, what do you hear? What is your first thought? God has surrounded us with remembrances of Him. He made the earth, the sea, and the sky and everything in it.
And you said, “So? He didn’t make the car and the house across the street?” Didn’t He? He created man with a thinking mind. An unthankful man often chooses to think of evil. A man who is thankful has God’s love in his heart.
Walk out of the house with praise in your heart, look for God in the sights and sounds of the Creation echoing Him in His might and power. Who gave flight and the song to the bird? Who brings the stars out at night? Who designed the intricacies, (little parts) , of the body to work together! Stand at the ocean’s edge and delight in the power of God pulling you toward faith in Him. See the glorious mountains raising up to praise Him in joy.
When Spring unfurls its God-designed colors before us, praise Him. When Harvest time comes, thank God for its bounty, and each rain drop and sun beam that came just in time for our food to grow. God sent Jesus to earth to save us from our sins through his blood sacrifice.
What are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Psalm 8:4, 8.
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the earth and all living things join in. Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy. Psalm 98:7-8.
