May 7, 2018 – Psalm 57:7

No wonder I can sing your praises! my heart is confident.  No wonder I can sing your praises! Psalm 57:7.

What is in your heart when you wake up in the morning? What is your first thought? Coffee? Dread for the day?  What can change your thinking?  Confidence in the glory of the Lord.

This morning, I opened the front door and the beautiful sights and sounds of God greet me.  Beautifully designed flowers, flowering trees, and the sounds of the song of birds fill the air.  All this, our Lord God of Light and Love brings to us.

When the world fills us with hate, darkness, and evil thoughts, we lose our thankfulness for the things that count.  We lose sight of the blessings God has for us.  When blessings are not counted as monetary value, they change our world and the way we see others.

We begin to see Jesus is love, and He loves us. Jesus is the door to knowing God and being His. Jesus gives us confidence  He is our confidence propelling us to awaken with a song, knowing our purposeful path in this world.

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Lamentations 3:17.

Sing a new song to the LordLet the whole earth sing to the Lord!
Sing to the Lord; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.
Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.” Psalm 96:1-3

Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp!  I will wake the dawn with my song. Psalm 57:8
