May 30, 2018 – Psalm 136:5-6

To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, For His mercy endures forever; To Him who laid out the earth above the waters, For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:5-6.

The Voice version –  …for His faithful love lasts forever. The Message – …His love never quits. The English Standard Version? …for his steadfast love endures forever.  No matter what version is used, the truth is, God loves us.  The author of Psalm 136 tells in what ways He loves us. 

The One whose Wisdom has no end made the Heavens and laid the foundation of the world.  He remembers us.  Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Our Lord of God loves us, not for the moment, not just for our lifetime, but forever.  He loves us in ways we cannot imagine.  How do we respond to His great and faithful love? Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. Isaiah 36:6-7. 

The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138:8 

He remembered us in our weakness. His faithful love endures forever. He saved us from our enemies. His faithful love endures forever. He gives food to every living thing. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 136:23-26.
