May 3, 2019 – Psalm 31:19-20
Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You and worked for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the children of mankind! In the cover of Your presence, You hide them from the plots of men; You store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues. Psalm 31:19-20.
Through the years the Joy in my heart grows deeper. Many of the songs I have sung grow in their praise and adoration of our Lord God. One song I use to sing, taught me how to praise Him in the highest. The lyrics began, The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1.
For my grandparents’ fiftieth wedding anniversary, I practiced my song for them: Beside the green pastures, I’ll rest me today, My Father’s green pastures how peaceful are they. The I heard my Grandfather’s quiet voice, “That is where I would like to be!”
There is one truth, that gives me joy. “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20-b. Now the lyrics, I sing in joyous anticipation are these:
How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me? Things so undeserved,
yet You gave to prove Your love for me; the voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee. (A. Crouch)
And I sing my prayer, my praise, and my song is simply this. “To God be the Glory, for the things He has done!”
Blessed be the Lord, for He has wondrously shown His steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city. Psalm 31:21.
