May 28, 2020 – Luke 2:13-16

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!” When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. Luke 2:13-16.

When the angel visited Mary, when the shepherds came to see Baby Jesus, when Simeon declared he had seen God’s Salvation when he held Jesus, Mary pondered and treasured these things in her heart.

Mary told the Angel, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”  Mary trusted God and her humility caused her to know her purpose in life would be to serve God.   The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. Proverbs 22:4.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2.

What is pondering? He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  Isaiah 26:3.

And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. Luke 2:17-19.
