May 27, 2020 – Psalm 89:1-2
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens, you will establish your faithfulness.” Psalm 89:1-2.
We watch clouds build up on the horizon, growing ever fearsome and foreboding. Change draws near. Where is our refuge? Where is our assurance? It lies with the steadfastness of God’s love. God made a covenant with David. The children of David, for generations, will be blessed.
He sent redemption to his people; He has commanded His covenant forever. Holy and awesome is His name! The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! Psalm 111:9-10.
Yes, our Lord God sent His Son Jesus; through Him, we have redemption. Redemption is the freedom of the soul of man from evil. We have the freedom to choose Jesus and truth, and not evil. How do we show our choice? “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15.
Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around Him? O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you? Psalm 89:5-8.
