May 24, 2019 – Isaiah 52:7-8

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! The watchmen shout and sing with joy, for before their very eyes they see the Lord returning to Jerusalem. Isaiah 52:7-8.

There is something about climbing a mountain!  Some of my early memories contain the joy of climbing a red dirt hill in Oklahoma with family. We celebrated victory at the top of the mountain!

 The feet of the messenger are beautiful.  Especially when bringing the Good News of Peace and Salvation.  Is it any wonder the news of the way Jesus loves us, brings us the Goodness of Salvation, a way of life that brings Peace and Joy.   And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:15.

 John 13 tells of the example of humility and serving when Jesus knelt and washed the feet of his disciples.  And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.  I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.  John 13:14-15. 

Serving others shows our heart’s love for Jesus, the Son of God.  Jesus told a parable of a King and understanding humility. “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” Matthew 25:40.

When we help one another, we obey His command to Love one another!

The Lord has demonstrated His holy power before the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God. Isaiah 52:10.
