May 24, 2018 – Galatians 3:26-27
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. Galatians 3:26-27.
John 17:21, we read the prayer of Jesus. “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” Jesus was sent to earth so that we might know God’s heart.
Have you ever wondered why there is so much violence, hate, and division in the world? There is only one way to have the unity Jesus prayed for. It begins with faith in Christ Jesus leading to baptism. Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is clothing ourselves as new creatures with His amazing love.
When we belong to Jesus we no longer draw lines and choose sides. No longer is there a need for man-made treaties that are broken before the ink dries. Adoption is a beautiful word implying being chosen. Romans 8:15 – So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you. Galatians 3:28-29
