May 2, 2015 – Romans 12:2

Romans-12-2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2How beautiful is this world.  But this world is not our home.  There is a longing deep in our soul for peace, for rest, for belonging.  As I write, my husband says, “I want to go home!”  He is in a dementia dreamworld again.  He tells me that he is so tired, he just wants to go home and rest.  “This is not my home!”  He looks for the transportation to take him home. This is the way our soul is when we are faced with discouragement in this world.  Weary of what is, searching for what we dream can be.  We want things to be the way we want. There is a way.  God has given us a way. Bless those who persecute us.  Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.  Live in harmony with one another.  This is the choice, this is the transformation and renewal of our minds.  This is knowing God and living according to His Will and not ours. This mind of ours can be haughty – arrogant – and without humility.  This is not God’s will for us. God is love and love has no room for the arrogant.  Love begets a servant-heart.  Honorable deeds from the heart pleases God and spreads His Love to others.Jesus says — Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  Matthew 11:28-29Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. Romans 12:14-18
