May 17, 2021 – Deuteronomy 8:5-6.

Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you. So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in His ways and by fearing Him. Deuteronomy 8:5-6.

Just as a parent trains their child, God trains each of us to follow His commands.   The song ‘I Did It My Way!’ suggests independence and ingenuity.  God teaches us dependence on Him with humility.

Which is more precious?  When a child rebels and has tantrums, or when a child reaches out for understanding, reassurance, and needs your strength and love?  God has one purpose, to teach us to be his children, to redeem us as His children.

The Creator God made the heavens and the earth, and created us. Therefore, we follow His Commandments.  We can do nothing without Him.

O Father God in Heaven You sent Your Son to give us Peace, and Joy, and teach us to BE Your Children.  We give Him all the Glory for He has All the Power.  Help me to depend on Him and live for Him.  I pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. I John 5:20.

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. Hebrews 1:3.

Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may confirm his covenant that He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:17-18.
