May 14, 2018 – Isaiah 46:8-9

“Do not forget this! Keep it in mind! Remember this, you guilty ones. Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! Isaiah 46:8-9.

Remembering becomes an important part of us through life.  Some things we can’t remember learning, they just are.  We don’t have to remember to take the next breath.  Some teachings we learn over and over and with each learning, it becomes a part of who we are.

When I was about four years old, I stood at the window and watch the rain pour down. I wanted to go outside and play. Mom told me to pray to God.  I prayed. The rain stopped. Did I remember always?  No.  Yet, as the years go by, I remember the beautiful moment of trust.  Moment by moment, God teaches and humbles me with His greatness.  Remembering, not out of duty, but through faith and love, I know He is God. There is no other.

Often God nudges me to remember.  Something hurtful or uncomfortable happens and comes to my attention. Those are the moments I cherish, no matter how difficult, I know God is my salvation, and I live in His World only for a moment.  He has created remembrances all around me. Help me not to lose sight of You, O Lord, hold me close, is my prayer.

Praise the LordLet all that I am praise the LordI will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.  Psalm 146:1-2.

I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish. Isaiah 46:10.
