March 27, 2019 – Psalm 35:20-21
They don’t talk of peace; they plot against innocent people who mind their own business. They shout, “Aha! Aha! With our own eyes, we saw him do it!” Psalm 35:20-21.
Our Lord God knows the torment and the accusations that come our way in this life. He walks beside us. We don’t understand when others mock and snarl at us. This is the moment when we remember the words of Jesus. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Matthew 5:44.
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. Matthew 5:9-10.
Each word we think and say brings joy or defeat for someone. Do we build up or tear down? Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have thelight that leads to life.” John 8:12.
When we follow Jesus, the light of the world, we become the light of the world, a lamp that gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:16.
When others accuse you, and then see His light shine from your heart, there will be great joy. I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13.
But give great joy to those who came to my defense. Let them continually say, “Great is the Lord, who delights in blessing his servant with peace!” Psalm 35:27
