March 27, 2012 – Psalm 146:1-2

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Psalm 146:1-2.

The past few days, these verses have meant more than ever before.  God continues to teach me how to praise Him through laughter and through tears. Through contemplation and reckless abandon, God meets us in prayerful praise.

For how can we be content and filled with joy in our Lord, if we know nothing about sorrow? Our time on earth is limited and while we yet live, we will praise Him. Joy and Hope are born in our obedience to God and holy living.

He created heaven, earth, and the sea and all that is in them, including Jacob, the Deceiver.  Yet God forgave Jacob.  God teaches us to forgive others – as He forgives us.

Psalm 147:4-5 – He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation – And lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart – Then I shall bow with humble adoration and then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee – How great Thou art, how great Thou art. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them. Psalm 146:5-6.
