March 19, 2018 – Psalm 40:3

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3.

As a young girl, I spent hours learning new songs on the piano.  The mystery of notes, and lyrics touched my heart.  Now in my old age, I am still drawn to the keys that sing new songs giving God Glory!

More and more, I see what God is doing, and how He leads us through this world to His Glory.  When a heavy fog is draped over our pathway, and we reach for His hand. He guides our way, He is our Light in the darkness that threatens to swallow us.  He is our Joy that lifts our hearts to sing praises to the Lifter of our heads.

We trust the Lord in all things.  We learn to have no confidence in those who worship the idols of today – Riches, fame, and the world’s acclaim. I will not follow those who are proud of all they have accomplished and have achieved for themselves.

What has the Lord done for me…is a query worth remembering and sharing in the name of Jesus.  Giving thanks to the Lord is praising Him. There are no end to his gifts.  The gift of sunlight awakens us, the gift of rain feeds us, and the lessons of hardship teaches us. His Love shelters us from pain and disappointment.  His Word teaches us the way to His Glory.  Blessed be the Lord!

Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. Psalm 40:4.
