March 17, 2015 – 2 Corinthians 12:9

2Corinthians12-9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9When is enough, enough?  When is there no need of more?  We are insatiable consumers of things of this world fueling garage sale after garage sale.  We want more goods, more power and more money.  These are never enough.  More beauty, more brawn, more ‘king of the mountain’ living. It is when we are hurting because of illness, losses of all kind when we are stripped of the world; then we come to know in the depths of our hearts that God is sufficient.  In our weakness, He is strong.  His power is made perfect in our lack of strength. When we trust Him for everything, He is all we need. Who wants want God almighty has for us?  Eternal life, love, truth, gentleness and goodness is ours.  The God of love and peace gives us the path to follow.  Be joyful, because of his salvation.  Grow to maturity, ready yourself for eternity.  Encourage each other, help those who are weak and have needs.  Live in harmony and peace, without anger, impatience or revengeful living. The God of Love and Peace will be with us.  Is there anyone who does not long deeply for love and peace — caring and assurance? This is our gift through the blood of Jesus Christ, when there is no want, simply love and peace.  Our deep longing to worship has found a home in Jesus Christ our Lord.  May our lives bring glory to our Lord as we say, Your grace is sufficient for us.

Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11
