March 16, 2016 – Romans 6:22

But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. Romans 6:22

Timeless lyrics by Chris Tomlin draw us closer to Him Who has a timeless love for each of us.  For slaves to sins and slaves to righteousness, what is good and right has different results. Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?  Romans 6:16Again we have the power to choose our own destiny — life or death.  There is no in between destiny.  It is life or death.  A destiny between the chains of sin that tighten with time or chains of righteousness choices that free us.  We are warned in I Peter 5:8 about our adversary who is always lurking near us.  Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,  casting all your anxieties on him, because He cares for you.  I Peter 5:6-7.For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
