March 15, 2018 – Colossians 1:4-5

For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News. Colossians 1:4-5.

Have you ever wondered why a pure faith in child draws us in? This verse makes me wonder in love – Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.  Ecclesiastes 3:11.

Just as an artist does not wish to destroy his masterpiece of art with ugliness, so God wants us not to smudge up his creation of our hearts with black marks of sin.

The Good News of Jesus blossoming into faith in Him draws others to also let Him change others’ hearts.  And He forgives our sins.  This forgiveness and love is God’s wonderful grace.

Have you ever wondered about the beauty of your feet? Romans 10:14-15 – But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”  Our faith in Christ shines out of our hearts, loving Jesus causes others to see the source of love and light in our world – Jesus.

This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. Colossians 1:6.
