March 12, 2019 – Lamentations 3:22-23
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:22-23.
‘Good Morning‘ is our greeting each morning! Have you ever considered the meaning of these words we often hear each day? Or do we even hear these two words and what they mean? What makes each morning ‘good’?
It is God’s faithfulness that brings a renewed promise of loving mercy from the most powerful Being in all the universe and beyond. What does this mean in terms of every day living? The Eternal God makes each of our mornings worth living.
How many ‘Good Mornings’ have you experienced? Today I count 33,352 mornings I have experienced! After contemplating verse 24, I will say to myself each morning, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will find hope in Him!”
The two words, “my inheritance,” declare a close relationship with Jesus, my Lord. Only through Him, can I find the forever hope. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6.
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. Psalm 16:5.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25:5.
And then I sing the hymn: Great is Thy faithfulness, Morning by morning new mercies I see,
And all I have needed Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me. (Thomas Chisholm)
My prayer today is from Psalm 19:14. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:24.
