June 8, 2018 – Ephesians 1:2-4

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:2-4.

Father God and Jesus Christ give us peace and grace.  Jesus blesses us with every blessing in the heavenly realms when we unite with Christ Jesus.  Why? Even before he made the world, God chose us to be holy and without fault in Christ.  Why should He love me so?  

As the Apostle Paul reflects on the love of God.  He remembers living in disbelief; persecuting those who had accepted Jesus as their Savior.  Paul remembers his heart is changed and blinded by a light from Heaven. In that instant, Paul understood the depth and strength of God’s love.

How great is God’s love, Paul was changed and fell to his knees and prays for us to receive the inner strength that is ours when we choose to live for Jesus. All is new, all is changed, and we trust Jesus.  He becomes our closest friend, even as He calls us Friend.

Do you want the peace and strength of His Love?  Let Jesus Christ make His home in our hearts, trusting Him only.

When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. Ephesians 3:14-17.
