June 4, 2020 – Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6.

In this day of constant vigil against evil, we need this encouragement. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7.

And where is this power and love and self-control found? Even as the Children of Israel were led through the wilderness by God. We travel through this world of evil and doubt. Only the whole armor of God can protect us. The belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of readiness from the gospel of peace; the shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Always praying in the spirit, and never giving up. Ephesians 6:10-18.

Loving God with all our heart means our whole being walks in faith and trust in our Lord God. We hold nothing back, the way we talk, the things we talk about, the way we think, and the way we love others.

And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He has commanded us. I John 3:23.

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:7-8.
